SMS Terms & Conditions

1. SMS Messaging Program

CertClass LLC ("CertClass," "we," "our," or "us") offers an SMS messaging program that allows training providers using the CertClass platform to send text messages to students who have opted in. By opting in to receive SMS messages, you agree to these SMS Terms & Conditions.

These terms supplement our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Consent and Opt-In

By checking the SMS opt-in checkbox during class registration and providing your mobile phone number, you expressly consent to receive text messages from CertClass on behalf of the training provider you are registering with.

Your consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. You may register for classes without opting in to SMS messages.

You confirm that you are the owner or authorized user of the mobile phone number you provide and that you are authorized to approve the applicable charges.

3. Types of Messages

If you opt in, you may receive the following types of text messages:

  • Registration Confirmations: Confirmation that you have been registered for a class
  • Payment Confirmations: Confirmation of payment received
  • Class Reminders: Reminders about upcoming classes, including date, time, and location
  • Certification Notifications: Notifications about certification status or completion
  • Instructor Communications: Messages from your instructor related to your class

4. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your class schedule and training provider activity. You can expect to receive between 1 and 10 messages per month per class you are enrolled in. Automated messages are sent in relation to specific events (registration, payment, class reminders). Your training provider may also send additional one-time messages related to your enrollment.

5. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. CertClass does not charge you for receiving SMS messages, but your mobile carrier's standard messaging rates and data charges will apply. Please consult your mobile service provider's pricing plan for details. CertClass is not responsible for any charges incurred from your mobile carrier.

6. How to Opt Out

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by:

  • Replying STOP: Reply STOP to any message you receive from us. You will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent.
  • Contacting Support: Email us at support@certclass.io with your phone number and a request to opt out of SMS messages.

After opting out, you may still receive a single confirmation message acknowledging your request. Opting out of SMS will not affect your class enrollment or any other services.

7. How to Get Help

For help or questions about SMS messages, reply HELP to any message or contact us at support@certclass.io.

8. Privacy and Data Use

Your phone number and SMS opt-in status are collected and stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We use your phone number solely for the purposes described in these SMS Terms.

We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or opt-in information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your information is shared only with:

  • Twilio: Our SMS delivery provider, which processes messages on our behalf and is contractually obligated to protect your data
  • Your Training Provider: The training company you registered with, who may initiate messages to you through the CertClass platform

9. Supported Carriers

SMS messages are supported on all major U.S. carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and most regional carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

10. Disclaimer

SMS messaging is provided "as is." We do not guarantee message delivery, as delivery depends on your mobile carrier and network conditions. CertClass is not responsible for messages that are delayed, lost, or not received due to carrier issues, device compatibility, or network problems. Important class information is also available through email and your training provider's website.

11. Changes to SMS Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued receipt of SMS messages after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you via SMS or email.
